Anyone interested is invited to participate in, watch, cheer, jeer, or take notes on what promises to be an interesting competition. Because each of the participants will be highly motivated to produce profit (rather than lots of chalk favorites that pay $3.60), there may be an opportunity for observers to take advantage of the selections.
I have a better idea. How about making it a bit more interesting, challenging, and less slanted to the old folks. Because most bettors under 60 prefer exotics, that offers a bit better chance to show off your skills in a meaningful way.
Specifically, $10 apportioned to each race, distributed in any pool you choose, no passed races, no races more than $10--if you pass the race, you lose the $10.
Because most modern bettors bet multiple tracks and like a lot of action, I suggest every scheduled race at Aqueduct, Laurel, Hollywood, and Turf Paradise for the weekend of December 8th, 9th, and 10th, posted on this site, AND on PaceAdvantage and HorsesWild, with all races posted at least 15 minutes before post time of the FIRST race. No chances allowed after that.
If your entry or any part of the $10 you wager involving that entry in any race is scratched after the wagers are posted, of course you get that portion of your wager back, just as if you were actually wagering.
I suggest you talk it up as much as you can, because it is a great opportunity to publicize both your site and your handicapping skills. It also follows the format used by most selection posters (specifying selections for the full card before the first race, many posting selections several hours before first post).
I understand that you feel your strong point is win betting on short-priced horses. Every race will require a specific strategy, exactly as if you were making wagers online or at the track. You can put it all on win, some on win, some on exactas, and even poke in a little Pick3 action if you choose. The only constraint is that you have the wagering strategy for how the $10 is to be distributed down pat and posted for each race at least 15 minutes before first post for that card.
Finally, to avoid wasting server space on other forums, we should all post on the same thread, one for each track for each day. That will simplify the reiteration and posting running scores at the end of each day. Simple, huh?
I also suggest that you invite anyone you know to actively participate, so it won't be so lonely for those strutting out to play hero. There are some pretty sharp handicappers on those two sites who would probably enjoy a little old-fashioned contest. Obviously, the one "winning" the most money with their hypothetical $10 wagers is the winner.

Sounds O.K., but to many tracks on each day...Why not maybe 2 tracks each day, 2 on Friday, 2 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday, but consisting of a total of 6 DIFFERENT race tracks total....Example, look how many hits Mountaineer got the past couple nights on this website.... _________________ I was concieved at waterford, born at waterford and lived at waterford since 1950's. That might work. Let me see what others think. I personally like Mountaineer, but the main motive for the tracks specified is that they are all approximately the same post time. I know, that shouldn't make any difference, but if everyone posts their selections before the first race, and the first race is a different time for each track, it could add considerably to the time involved.
The basic idea was that the races could be analyzed, and the selections posted all at once (or, in some cases, at short intervals because of server constraints). If there is a mix of tracks with different start times, it seems it might become a lot more confusing.

Noone has backed out of anything. I will go one on one with you any day, but like I said on "that other site" Let's have a tournament fashion format. Designated races, someone here can pick them. I don't care what they are, or where they are. 10 races win and place mutuals count. Highest total wins. How about it Traynor.
Read it in the selections forum starting with DDSS Selections for Hawthorne.
[quote="hcooc"][quote="traynor"]Apologies to all. It seems the main contestants (from that other site) are backing out. "Competition" will most likely be cancelled.

This is getting boring. Anything less than a "meaningful number" of races, clearly stated above, is irrelevant and a waste of time. I decline. _________________ http://ddssratings.com/
