The Kentucky Oaks $500,000 Grade I Stakes Race is set for May 5, 2006 and the prognosticators have chosen Balance as the morning line favorite out of a full field of 14 horses. Balance will be ridden by jockey Victor Espinoza.

Miraculous Miss bowed out yesterday and the top field has been winnowed down; Press Camp is out because she is not one hundred percent, according to her trainer Bill Morey. Bushfire had a solid workout on a wet track at Churchill Downs and is also considered a strong contender.
