Yankee Injunuity Wins The Arlington Sprint Handicap at Arlington Park July 11
Encore Racing Stable and James McMullen’s Yankee Injunuity, ridden by jockey E. T. Baird, won the $200,000 Arlington Sprint Handicap at Arlington Park on Saturday, July 11.
Trained by James McMullen, Yankee Injunuity covered 5 1/2 furlongs on turf in 1:02.50 and paid $19, $5.20 and $3. Chamberlain Bridge, under jockey Jesse Campbell, placed second and returned $3.20 and $2.40. St. Joe with jockey Julien Leparoux aboard came in third and paid $2.40 to show.
As part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge, Arlington Sprint Handicap winner Yankee Injunuity earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on November 7 at Santa Anita Park.
The Arlington Sprint Handicap is Yankee Injunuity’s first win this year and his seventh in 30 starts improving his bankroll to $308,451.
Other horses that raced in the Arlington Sprint Handicap in order of finish: Grand Sensation, Fort Prado, Shrewd Operator and Stradivinsky.
