Smile Sprint Handicap Field at Calder Race Course July 11

Five race horses will face 2008 Eclipse Award winning sprinter Benny the Bull in the $350,000 Smile Sprint Handicap at  Calder Race Course on Saturday, July 11.

SBG Global RacebookAs part of the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Challenge, Calder‘s Smile Sprint Handicap winner will have a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint field on November 7 at Santa Anita Park.

Raced at 6 furlongs, the Smile Sprint Handicap field with jockeys and weight:

  1. Ikigai ridden by jockey J V Bridgmohan carries 118 lbs.
  2. How’s Your Halo ridden by jockey Manoel Cruz, 118 lbs.
  3. Processor’s Turf ridden by jockey Eduardo Nunez, 112 lbs.
  4. Benny the Bull ridden by jockey Edgar Prado, 124 lbs.
  5. Eaton’s Gift ridden by jockey Jose Lezcano, 118 lbs.
  6. Yesbyjimminy ridden by jockey P Lopez, 118 lbs.

The Smile Sprint Handicap is the 10th race in Calder Race Course’s July 11 horse racing program. Smile Sprint Handicap post time is 4:55 pm.
