Wertheimer and Frere’s Interactif, ridden by jockey Kent Desormeaux, won the $125,000 Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland on Sunday, October 11.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Interactif covered 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:45.24 and paid $4, $3.20 and $2.80.Codoy placed second and returned $28 and $9.20. Family Foundation with jockey aboard came in third and paid $4.40 to show.
The Bourbon Stakes winner Interactif has earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf field on November 7 at Santa Anita Park as part of the Breeders’ Cup 2009 “Win & You’re In” series.
Interactif gave race horse trainer Todd Pletcher his third Bourbon Stakes victory in 4 years, improved his horse racing record to 3 wins in 4 starts and increased his earnings to $164,250.
Other horses that raced in Keeneland’s Bourbon Stakes in order of finish: Raging Wit, Guys Reward, Exhi, Turf Melody, Modern Cowboy, Asphalt, Activity Report, Billions Boy and Scottkeith’skitten. Harrods Creek was scratched.
