Fatal Bullet Wins The Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland October 9

Bear Stables’ Fatal Bullet, ridden by jockey Eurico Da Silva, won the $250,000 Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland on Friday, October 9.

SBG Global RacebookTrained by Reade Baker, Fatal Bullet covered 6 furlongs in 1:09.00 and paid $4.40, $2.60 and $2.40. Capt. Candyman Can, under jockey Javier Castellano, placed second and returned $3.80 across the board. Ez Dreamer with jockey Julien Leparoux aboard came in third and paid $5.60 to show.

As part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge, the Phoenix Stakes winner Fatal Bullet earned a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint on November 7 at Santa Anita Park.

Fatal Bullet earned $150,000 for Danny Dion’s Bear Stables and improved his horse racing record to 9 wins in 14 starts.

Other horses that raced in Keeneland‘s Phoenix Stakes in order of finish: Sing Baby Sing, Formidable, Greeley’s Conquest, My Pal Charlie, Silver Edition, Past the Point and Hamazing Destiny.
