Blind Luck Wins The Oak Leaf Stakes at Santa Anita Park October 4
Blind Luck, ridden by jockey Tyler Baze, won the $300,000 Oak Leaf Stakes at Santa Anita Park on Sunday, October 4.
As part of the Breeders’ Cup “Win & You’re In” series, the Oak Leaf Stakes winner Blind Luck earned a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies field on November 6 at Santa Anita.
Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Blind Luck covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.19 and paid $9, $4.60 and $3.60. Always a Princess, under jockey Garrett Gomez, placed second and returned $4.60 and $4. Bickersons with jockey Joe Bravo aboard came in third and paid $11.40 to show.
Other horses that raced in Santa Anita‘s Oak Leaf Stakes in order of finish: It Tiz, Softly Singing, Pure Class, Fairway Road, Kaloula, Forbidden Paradise (IRE), Maralago and Repo. La Nez and Whispering Hush were scratched.
