Spring at Last Tops Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park
Spring at Last ridden by jockey Eibar Coa wins the $500,000 Donn Handicap, Florida’s most prestigious race for older horses, at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, February 2.
Trained by Doug O’ Neill for J. Paul Reddam and WinStar Farm, Spring at Last covered 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.35 and paid $14, $5.40, $4.80. A. P. Arrow under jockey Ramon Dominguez placed second and returned $4.40 and $3.80. Kiss the Kid with jockey Eddie Castro aboard came in third and paid $13 to show.
Other horses that raced in 50th running of the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream Park on Saturday were: Brass Hat, Fairbanks, Einstein (BRZ), Daaher, Dr Googles Boogles. Wood Be Willing was scratched.
