Santa Anita Oaks on March 8 at Santa Anita Park
A field of nine 3-year-old fillies will be competing in the $300,000 Santa Anita Oaks on Saturday, March 8 at Santa Anita Park.
All carrying 122 pounds, fillies and jockeys that will be racing in the Santa Anita Oaks at 1 1/16 miles this Saturday at Santa Anita Park line up as follows:
- Lovely Isle ridden by jockey David Flores
- Briecat ridden by jockey Richard Migliore
- Divine Legacy ridden by jockey Tyler Baze
- Final Fling ridden by jockey Joseph Talamo
- Seattle Smooth ridden by jockey Joel Rosario
- Sunday Holiday ridden by jockey Victor Espinoza
- Golden Doc A ridden by jockey Rafael Bejarano
- Ariege ridden by jockey Corey Nakatani
- Kazamira ridden by jockey Michael Smith
In her most recent start, Golden Doc A became a Grade I winner of the Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita Park February 9. Before that, Golden Doc A’s last win came in the Anoakia Stakes on Santa Anita’s Cushion Track in October. Jockey Rafael Bejarano will take the mount once again for horse trainer Barry Abrams.
Final Fling came off an upset win in the Santa Ysabel Stakes (gr. III) at Santa Anita Park January 13. Eclipse Award winning Apprentice Jockey Joe Talamo is riding Final Fling this Saturday.
The Julio Canani-trained Quiet American filly Seattle Smooth placed second in the California Oaks at Golden Gate Fields February 2.
Divine Legacy finished 4th behind Golden Doc A in the Las Virgenes Stakes while Sunday Holiday finished 4th in the Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs, home of the 2008 Kentucky Derby, on November 24.
