Pat O’Brien Handicap at Del Mar August 24

Twelve race horses will run in the $200,000 Pat O’Brien Handicap (gr. II) at Del Mar Sunday, August 24.

As part of the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win & You’re In Series of horse races, the Pat O’Brien Handicap winner will become one of the Breeders’ Cup horses for the October 25 Breeders’ Cup Sprint to be held at Santa Anita Park.

Raced at 7 furlongs, Del Mar’s Pat O’Brien Handicap field of horses with jockeys and weight line up as follows:

Decado (IRE) ridden by jockey Alex Solis, 113 lbs.
Rebellion (GB) ridden by jockey Rafael Bejarano, 118 lbs.
Midnight Lute ridden by jockey Garrett Gomez, 122 lbs.
Lewis Michael ridden by jockey Rene Douglas, 118 lbs.
Arson Squad ridden by jockey David Flores, 116 lbs.
Barbecue Eddie ridden by jockey Aaron Gryder, 115 lbs.
Doppio ridden by jockey Jose Valdivia Jr, 114 lbs.
