Macho Again Works For The 2008 Belmont Stakes
Preakness runner-up Macho Again, one of the 2008 Belmont Stakes contenders, had a solid work this morning for horse trainer Dallas Stewart at Churchill Downs, going a half-mile in :48.20 over the fast main track under exercise rider Kenny Borque. The move ranked 11th of 55 at the distance.
“It was very good work,” horse trainer Dallas Stewart said. “We opened him up a little, and I liked the way he finished. He came home in :11, so we were pretty happy with him.”
Stewart said he would ship Macho Again to Belmont Park on Tuesday.
A son of Macho Uno, Macho Again was second to Triple Crown contender Big Brown in the Preakness, beaten five and a quarter lengths after a troubled trip.
