Godolphin Racing’s Little Belle, winner of this spring’s Ashland Stakes (gr. I), will be the lone 3-year-old challenging a field of 10 other older fillies and mares in Sunday’s 53rd running of the $500,000 Juddmonte Spinster (gr. I) at 1 1/8 miles on the main track of Keeneland.
Keeneland’s Spinster Stakes field of fillies and mares with jockeys, weight and morning line odds from the rail out:
Wake Up Maggie (IRE) ridden by jockey Julien Leparoux carries 123 lbs. with morning line odds of 10-1
Indescribable ridden by jockey Robby Albarado, 123 lbs., 12-1
Model ridden by jockey Michael Baze, 123 lbs., 10-1
Carriage Trail ridden by jockey Kent Desormeaux, 123 lbs., 6-1
Sharp Susan ridden by jockey Rene Douglas, 123 lbs., 8-1
Little Belle ridden by jockey Rajiv Maragh, 120 lbs., 5-1

Say You Will (IRE) ridden by jockey Miguel Mena, 123 lbs., 20-1
Rosinka (IRE) ridden by jockey Jeremy Rose, 123 lbs., 10-1
Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Little Belle is winless since her Ashland score. However, the daughter of A.P. Indy has run second in the Kentucky Oaks and Coaching Club American Oaks and third in the Alabama, all Grade 1 events. In her most recent start, her first try against older fillies and mares, Little Belle ran seventh in the slop in the Ruffian (gr. I) at Belmont Park.
Regular jockey Rajiv Maragh will be aboard Little Belle, who will break from post position 6 and carry 120 pounds, 3 fewer than her Spinster rivals.
The other Grade 1 winner in the field is Team Valor’s Unbridled Belle, who took the 2007 Beldame (gr. I). Jockey John Velazquez has the mount Sunday on the Todd Pletcher trainee and will break from post position 9.
The Juddmonte Spinster Stakes is the 9th race in Keeneland’s October 5 horse racing program. Spinster post time is 5:10 pm.
