In Summation Sums Up Palos Verdes Handicap at Santa Anita Park
Favorite In Summation ridden by Rafael Bejarano won the $150,000 Palos Verdes Handicap at Santa Anita Park Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday program.
The 5-year-old trainee of Christophe Clement, In Summation ran 6 furlongs in 1:06.67 and paid $5.60, $3 and $2.20. Barbecue Eddie is behind with jockey Aaron Gryder and returned $3 and $2.40. Surf Cat under jockey Alex Solis is third and showed $2.60.
“I knew my horse was going to finish strong, because I saved a lot.” In Summation’s rider Rafael Bejarano said. “My horse broke really fast but I didn’t want to use him too early. I knew there was only one speed horse in the race, and I knew he was going very fast, so I saved what I could and let my horse run when it counted.”
Soul City Slew came in fourth in Santa Anita’s Palos Verdes Handicap followed by Ididn’tdoanything, Copa de Plata and Fly Dorcego.
