Icabad Crane Wins Federico Tesio Stakes at Pimlico

Icabad Crane, ridden by jockey Jeremy Rose, won the $100,000 Federico Tesio Stakes at Pimlico Race Course, home of the 2008 Preakness Stakes, on April 19, Saturday.

The Federico Tesio Stakes is one of the prep races for the 2008 Kentucky Derby as well as the Preakness.

Trained by Graham Motion, Icabad Crane raced 1 1/8 miles in 1:50.83 and paid $5.80, $3.40 and $2.80. Mint Lane, under jockey Mario Pino, returned $5.40 and $3.80. Deputyville with jockey Jose Espinoza aboard showed $5.80.

Three-year-old horses that also raced in Pimlico’s Federico Tesio Stakes: Wonder Mon, Fast Talking, Regal Solo, Cave’s Valley and Indian Jump.
