Beatrice Oxenberg’s Hey Byrn, ridden by jockey Chuck Lopez, won the $150,000 Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park, Saturday, April 12.
The Holy Bull Stakes is the last 2008 Kentucky Derby prep race to be held at Gulfstream Park.
Trained by Edward Plesa, Jr., Hey Byrn covered 1 3/16 miles in 1:58.14 and paid $4, $3, and $2.20. Dream Maestro, under Manoel Cruz, returned $4.80 and $2.80. Famous Patriot with jockey Eddie Castro aboard returned $2.20 to show.
