Undefeated Harlem Rocker pulled a 2 1/2 length victory over favorite J Be K to win his stakes debut, Aqueduct’s $142,500 Withers Stakes on Saturday, April 26. The Withers Stakes is the final 2008 Kentucky Derby prep race at Aqueduct.
Trained by Todd Pletcher for Stronach Stables, Harlem Rocker, ridden by jockey Eibar Coa raced 1 mile in 1:34.50 and paid $6.60 and $2.70. J Be K with jockey Garrett Gomez aboard returned $2.30. Double or Nothing, under Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado is third followed by Face the Cat and jockey John Velazquez.
There was no show wagering due to the small field.
