Cubanacan Stables’ Gayego will run in Saturday’s 2008 Preakness Stakes competing once again with Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown in the second leg of the Triple Crown races.
Gayego was added to the Preakness entries Tuesday. Gayego will be the only one of the 19 horses beaten by Big Brown in the Kentucky Derby to seek a rematch Saturday at Pimlico Race Course.
Horse trainer Paulo Lobo, who attributed the disappointing performance to a poor start, claimed that Gayego is primed for a bounce-back performance against the heavily favored Big Brown.

Gayego will be ridden by jockey Mike Smith, who has served as the Kentucky-bred colt’s rider in each of his six lifetime starts.
