Augustin Stable’s Forever Together, ridden by jockey Julien Leparoux, moved wide in the stretch and pulled away late to win the $1,951,080 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Oak Tree at Santa Anita Park on Breeders’ Cup Day Friday, October 24.
Trained by Jonathan Sheppard, Forever Together covered 1 1/4 miles on turf in 2:01.58 and paid $11.80, $6.40 and $4.80. The longshot 2007 Canadian Horse of the YearSealy Hill, under jockey Patrick Husbands, placed second and returned $36.20 and $15.80. Morning line favorite Wait a While with jockey John Velasquez aboard settled for third and paid $3.60 to show.
