Eaton’s Gift Grabs Swale Stakes at Gulfstream Park
Eaton’s Gift ridden by jockey Kent Desormeaux wins the $150,000 Swale Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, February 2.
Trained by Dale Romans for Zayat Stables, Eaton’s Gift covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.63 and paid $9.60, $5, $3.40. Surrealdeal under jockey Manoel Cruz placed second and returned $24.80 and $6.20. Wincat with jockey John Velazquez aboard came in third and paid $2.80 to show.
The Swale Stakes is one of the 2 Kentucky Derby preparatory races scheduled this Saturday. The other is the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita Park scheduled as the 5th horse race in their 11-race card.
Other horses that raced in Gulfstream Park’s Swale Stakes on Saturday are: Silver Edition, Mr. Foz, Coal Play and St. Joe.
