Diverse Wins Kentucky Derby Museum Purse at Churchill Downs
Diverse, ridden by jockey Robby Albarado, won the $44,100 Kentucky Derby Museum Purse at Churchill Downs on Thursday, beating Kiss the Queen by a nose.
The 4-year-old daughter of Kingmambo, Diverse, covered the mile over the turf in 1:38.75 paying $5.20, $3.40 and $2.40 as the favorite in the field of 10. Kiss the Queen returned $6.80 and $4.40. Park At Dark finished 4 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $2.80.
Trained by Neil Howard for owners W.S. Farish and Joseph Sheilds Jr., Diverse notched her second victory in 13 starts, earning $27,606 to increase her career total to $118,239.
