Curlin Draws Post 5 In The Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park September 27

Saturday at Belmont Park, reigning Horse of the Year Curlin seeks to become America’s first $10 million horse in the 90th running of the $750,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup Invitational.

As part of the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Challenge, the Jockey Club Gold Cup winner will be one of the Breeders’ Cup horses for the October 25 Breeders’ Cup Classic to be held at Oak Tree at Santa Anita Park.

Raced at 1 1/4 miles, the Jockey Club Gold Cup field of race horses with jockeys and weight:

  5. Curlin ridden by jockey Robby Albarado, 126 lbs.
  6. Angliana ridden by jockey Rajiv Maragh, 126 lbs.
  7. A. P. Arrow ridden by jockey Ramon Dominguez, 126 lbs.
  8. Stones River ridden by jockey Gabriel Saez, 126 lbs.
  9. Mambo in Seattle ridden by jockey Edgar Prado, 122 lbs.
