Conduit Wins The 2008 Breeders’ Cup Turf At Santa Anita Park October 25
Ballymacoll Farm’s Conduit, ridden by jockey Ryan Moore, wins the $2,926,620 Breeders’ Cup Turf on October 25 Breeders’ Cup Day Saturday at Santa Anita Park.
Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Conduit covered 1 1/2 miles on turf in 2:23.42 and paid $13.60, $8.40 and $5.80. Eagle Mountain, under jockey Kevin Shea, placed second and returned $9.60 and $6.40. Dancing Forever with jockey Rene Douglas aboard came in third and paid $12.80 to show.
Irish-bred colt Condiuit gave European-based horses their fourth win on Day 2 of the 2008 Breeders’ Cup World Championships and race horse trainer Sir Michael Stoute’s fourth Breeders’ Cup victory.
Other horses that raced in the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Santa Anita in order of finish: Soldier of Fortune, Out of Control, Red Rock Canyon, Winchester, Better Talk Now, Spring House, Red Rocks and Grand Couturier.
