Spinning Sound ran fifth in the Eddie Logan, beaten 4 1/4 lengths by Yankee Bravo in the one-mile feature. Spinning Sound has one win in four starts and he’ll be ridden in the California Derby by Francisco Duran.
Robscarvic, also 1-for-4 lifetime, ran fifth in both the Pinjara Stakes at Santa Anita and the Generous Stakes (gr. III) at Hollywood Park. Gallagher has given jockey Victor Espinoza the riding assignment on Robscarvic.
The California Derby will be run as the eighth race at Golden Gate Fields on a 10-race card that begins at 12:15 p.m.
