Carrying top weight of 121 pounds, 5-year-old Gottcha Gold is aiming to win the Salvator Mile Handicap 2 year in a row. In his last start, the Edward Plesa trainee Gottcha Gold was 2nd in the Pimlico Special (gr. I) last May 16. Jockey Eddie Castro will be aboard Gottcha Gold in Saturday’s Salvator Mile Handicap.

The 6-year-old son of A.P. Indy, Indy Wind, may be Gottcha Gold’s biggest challenge in Monmouth Park’s Salvator Mile Handicap. Last year, Amy Tarrant’s Indy Wind placed 3rd in last year’s Salvator Mile Handicap. In his most recent start, Indy Wind was an impressive 7 1/2 lengths winner of the Frisk Me Now Stakes over at Monmouth Park’s main track. Indy Wind will be ridden by jockey Stewart Elliot this Saturday.

The Salvator Mile Handicap is the 11th race in Monmouth Park’s July 5 horse racing program. Salvator Mile Handicap post time is 6:13 pm.
