When it comes to horse racing, Horses Wild has got you covered.
Trained by Richard Dutrow, Jr., Benny the Bull covered 6 furlongs in 1:11.41 and paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.10. How’s Your Halo, under jockey Juan Leyva, returned $32.20 and $9.60. Rockerfeller with jockey Santiago Javier paid $3 to show.
“Edgar (Prado) pretty much has him figured out. He can end up anywhere on the racetrack early, depending on how a race develops, but he always seems to get there (win),” said co-owner Michael Iavarone, managing partner of IEAH Stable. “We know they (horses) are not machines. If anything, Big Brown has taught us that, but this horse (Benny the Bull) comes close. I think this is our third Grade 1 win since the Belmont and helps take the sting out of that day. I guess from here, ‘Benny’ will go on to the Forego at Saratoga and then on to the Breeders’ Cup in California.”
Other horses who raced in Calder Race Course’s Smile Sprint Handicap in order of finish: Ravalo, Blue Pepsi Lodge, Indian Chant, Finallymadeit, Winnies Tigger Too and Man of Danger.
