Behindatthebar Off The Preakness Stakes 2008

Padua Stables’ Behindatthebar is taken off the 2008 Preakness Stakes (gr. I) due to a bruised left front foot Firday morning at Belmont Park, home of the 2008 Belmont Stakes.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, the son of Forest Wildcat, Behindatthebar, won the Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland on April 19. Behindatthebar has three wins from five starts and has earned $227,100.

The scratch of Behindatthebar, who drew post 5, leaves a field of 12 for Saturday’s $1 million Preakness at Pimlico. Big Brown, the 1-2 morning line favorite will now break from post 6. Fifteen winners have come from the 6th post position in the 132 previous runnings of the Preakness.

All carrying 126 pounds, the updated Preakness entries with jockeys and morning line odds are:

Tres Borrachos ridden by jockey Tyler Baze, 30-1

The Preakness Stakes is scheduled as the 12 race in Pimlico’s May 17 horse racing program. Preakness post time is 6:15 pm.
