The 2008 Breeders’ Cup Challenge continues in the opening weekend of Saratoga Race Course with the $250,000 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (gr. II) where the winner will be part of the Breeders’ Cup field for the October 25 Breeders’ Cup Sprint to be held at Santa Anita Park .
Raced at 6 furlongs for 3-year-olds and up, Saratoga’s Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap field with jockeys and weight line up as follows:
Thor’s Echo ridden by jockey Corey Nakatani carries 118 lbs.
First Defence ridden by jockey Javier Castellano, 116 lbs.
