Reigning North American Horse of the Year Curlin was made the 2-5 favorite. Carrying top weight of 129 pounds, Curlin will be breaking from stall 12 and will be ridden by jockey Robby Albarado.

Assistant trainer Scott Blasi said, “He’s done everything right since he’s been here. He’s been training well. “I think the draw is ok, because of the configuration of the race track, and he will put himself in a good position.”

Four winners of the Dubai World Cup have drawn stall 11. If Curlin wins the 2008 Dubai World Cup, he would have been the first horse to win the Dubai World Cup from stall 12.

Gambling is illegal in Dubai but online horse wagering sites such as Bodog Racebook are taking bets for the 2008 Dubai World Cup race.
