Nobiz Like Shobiz Favorite for Fountain of Youth Odds
Holly Bull Stakes winner, Nobiz Like Shobiz, was named morning-line favorite as he drew the No. 5 post position for Saturday’s Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park, with the race having one of the strongest fields among this year’s Kentucky Derby preparatory races.
Scat Daddy, who delivered Nobiz Like Shobiz his only loss at the Champagne Stakes last year, and Adore the Gold are also among the nine horses entered in the 1 1/8 mile race.
“That’s the horse to beat,” Adore the Gold trainer Michael Gorham said of Nobiz Like Shobiz. “But we’ll still have to beat the rest of them, too.”
John Velazquez will ride Scat Daddy on Saturday and Adore the Gold will be ridden by Edgar Prado.
Scat Daddy was made 3-1 choice and drew the No. 8 post. Stormello was 4-1 and Adore the Gold and Drums of Thunder, who is trained by Bill Kaplan, were both made 8-1.
Johannesburg Star was made 15-1 and drew the inside rail position and Adore the Gold will leave from the outside No. 9 post.
