Grand Minstrel wins the $76,750 Capote Stakes with a five-length victory over All Expenses Paid at New York’s Aqueduct on Wednesday, December 12.
The 2-1 favorite ridden by Eibar Coa and trained by Jimmy Jerkens won for the second time in five starts.
Grand Minstrel ran 6 furlongs on a fast track in 1:10.66 and paid $6.60, $3.70 and $2.70. All Expenses Paid ridden by jockey Edgar Prado returned $4.80 and $3.20. Red Reef with Ramon Dominguez aboard showed at $2.90.
