Summer Bird: If we throw out his Derby race (where he didn't care too much for the gooey track that day), and examine his Arkansas Derby race, it seems he should like the distance. A big change of jockey for him (K. Desormeux up) and the addition of blinkers to keep him closer to the pace may do the trick. Dunkirk: We also throw out his Derby race, where he was in all kinds of trouble and we like the change of jockey (J. Velazquez riding for Pletcher). He has a very brisk workout for this (:47.1) and will be ready to spoil Borel's hat trick. Charitable Man: Throw out his poly race at Keeneland and he is undefeated in 3 starts on the dirt (and 2 for 2 at Belmont). It looks very similar to a pattern followed by Coastal, who in 1979, won the Peter Pan in fast time, sported a sharp workout after it, and demolished Spectacular Bid's hope for the Triple Crown that year. Mine That Bird and Miner's Escape will have to be used in the gimmicks. Good luck everyone! Congrats to everyone who cashed in on Summer Bird (and the Ex, Tri and Super)!
