Summer horse racing heats up with the 141st running of the $1-million Travers Stakes on August 28 at Saratoga Race Course in New York.

The Travers Stakes is America's oldest stakes race first run in 1864. It was named so in honor of William Travers, who had the Saratoga race track built the year before.

After winning the 2010 Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park, the Preakness winner Lookin At Lucky struggled with a sickness and will miss the Travers Stakes leaving the Travers field wide open.
